A human-centred framework for understanding the choices we make, the impact we have and the realities we create for ourselves and others.

Starting with Curiosity

I've spent more than 25 years working with people, relationships and organizational systems. Throughout that time, I've become increasingly curious about what shapes our choices, how we show up in the world and the impact we have on one another.

Why do our intentions and actions sometimes lead to very different outcomes? How do our identities, experiences and environments influence the choices we make? And how much of who we are is shaped by the people and systems around us?

These questions have influenced my professional work, writing and creative pursuits. They also led me to develop Intentification®, a framework that explores the relationship between intention, action and impact.

I’m continuing to explore these questions through an interdisciplinary lens, bringing together my interests in human behaviour, identity, culture, learning and creativity.

I'm interested in exploring how identity, culture, relationships and social systems shape our understanding of ourselves, one another and the world around us. My emerging areas of inquiry include:

Identity & Belonging: How our cultural backgrounds, lived experiences and social environments influence who we are, how we express ourselves and where we feel we belong.
Human Behaviour & Relationships: How our intentions, choices and interactions shape our experiences and the realities we create for one another.
Learning & Transformation: How reflection, creativity and lived experience influence the ways we learn, challenge assumptions and change our understanding of ourselves and the world.
Material Culture & Creative Practice: How clothing, textiles and upcycling can become ways of exploring cultural identity, heritage, consumption and the social systems that shape our lives.

These interests are still evolving. As I explore the possibility of doctoral research, my intention is to approach the process with curiosity, intellectual rigour and openness to questions I haven't yet considered.

I see my professional experience, writing, creative projects and emerging research interests as interconnected. Each offers a different way to explore questions about identity, human behaviour and the systems that shape our lives.

Where Curiosity Is Taking Me

My curiosity continues to expand, bringing together questions about identity, culture, relationships, learning and the social systems that shape our lives.

We've all heard the familiar phrase: "That wasn't my intention." But what happens when our intentions don't match our impact?

Intentification® emerged from my curiosity about that gap. It explores the relationship between intention, action and impact, inviting us to examine what drives our choices, how those choices translate into behaviour and how our actions are experienced by others.

It's not about getting everything right or assuming that good intentions guarantee good outcomes. It's about developing greater awareness of ourselves, our relationships and the systems that influence us.

At its heart, Intentification® asks us to be more conscious of how we show up, more reflective about the choices we make and more accountable for the impact we have.

Bringing Ideas to Life

My inquiry doesn't exist separately from the things I create. It informs my writing, speaking, Human at Work learning experiences and emerging work with Sustainable Threads.

Each offers a different way to explore intentionality, challenge assumptions and better understand ourselves and the world around us. The questions will continue to evolve. The invitation remains the same: Dare to be, on your own terms and in your own way.
